Art Teachers Edith Mellen, Euclid High School, and Jennifer Douglas, Arbor Elementary, have created a collaborative workshop that will pair high school Visual Communication students with 5th grade elementary students. The students will design and paint shoes reflective of their experiences. This will inspire and generate creativity and form a positive partnership with one another.
To kick off the event, our guest speaker will be Van Monroe, who is a Euclid High School Distinguished Alumni award recipient. Van will be sharing his story of success through life’s adversities to becoming a respected Artist. His shoes featuring President Barack Obama, painted by Van are on display at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.
