Master the Mainframe Contest

September 20, 2017

The Computer Information Systems Program (CIS) took part in the Master the Mainframe Contest during September and October.  The contest is sponsored by the IBM Z Academic Initiative, which has provided mainframe training and resources to students at more than 1,000 schools in 70 countries. By participating in the contest students learn, prepare for a career – and you may win prizes.  Starting salaries for “mainframe developers” average $113,000, more than double the average salary for electrical engineering.*  What a great opportunity for our students to get real-world experience!
