Our welding students will be collaborating with Pieter Bourterses Studios to help with decorations for the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital Fundraising Event in April 2018. The students have envisioned a theme called the "Great Outdoors" where there will be full-size animals which will act as a photo back-drop, fire pits with flame-like lighting, a working waterfall, rock climbing wall feature, over-sized adirondack chairs, cocktail bars with in rainbow colors and 95 welded centerpieces. The welding students will help plan, organize and set up for this event. Mr. Eubank, the Lake Shore Compact Welding Instructor says, "this is both learning and rewarding at the same time". He says, "community service is how these student's lives will change". Josh Harris, a junior in the program, says "this project is bigger than anything I have ever done before. It will effect so many lives". Josh admitted that "wow" is not a big enough word for it. Expected to attend this fundraiser are 1200 people; including athletes, executives, and high profile people.
