Congratulations to Visual Communications CTE students, Tianna Harper and Serria Crites-Chases for being selected to represent in this year's eXpressions® Program. Over 1,400 art, language, and math projects from 52 schools were submitted last month as a
part of eXpressions® sponsored by The Cleveland Clinic.
An esteemed panel of art and science professionals used four criteria to evaluate each
art submission: interpretation, presentation, creativity, and initiative. The pieces selected by the judges will be awarded four levels of special recognition.
In descending order, they are: Blue Ribbon, Red Ribbon, White Ribbon, and Honorable Mention.
One piece will be identified as the overall Best in Show. Each Blue Ribbon winner will receive a $100 gift card. Red Ribbon winners will receive $75; White Ribbon winners, $50; and Honorable Mention winners, $25. The Best in Show will receive a $300 gift card. Teachers who have at least one award-winning student will also receive a $100 educational grant.
Award-winning projects will be featured in our eXpressions® Catalogue, on our website, and they will be displayed in the 2019 eXpressions® Art, Language, and Math eXhibition at the Great Lakes Science Center. The opening, including a formal program and reception, will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
